November 13th: Hot from El Salvador to Honduras

Riding all day in the heat

Today was a hot and sticky day of riding. We left around 9 am and headed towards the Honduras border. We didn't stop much - only for gas, water, and lunch so I didn’t take many pictures.

We crossed the border into Honduras. Our paperwork took forever. Border crossings are not the easiest to navigate, especially with broken Spanish skills. We’re getting better, but it is very confusing. Why are copies of every document is required?! The paperwork logistics to navigate each border’s bureaucracy is something we knew was going to happen, but experiencing it first hand is completely not what I expected.

After all was said and done, we ended up riding for a while at night. Something I do not enjoy, as my vision is not the greatest at night. But that’s what adventure is all about - getting out of your comfort zone and doing what needs to get done in the moment.

Overall we rode 197 miles today. I am thankful to have a room with air conditioning for the night.
