November 2nd: Viva Mexico!

Dirty Larry and tacos. Yes, please!

Viva Mexico! Sunny, 85 degrees and beautiful views of the Sierra Madre Oriental. My epic biker tan is settling in nicely, too. ☺

After we crossed the border and got through customs, found the Aduana and got in line to register our bikes, the clerk asks me for a copy of my marriage certificate. Um…shit. Don’t have it. But, I did have a digital copy. Long story short, my husband is THE best!! He turned on his charm and we got a paper copy. Once we got our bike insurance figured out, we were back on the road.

So far, Mexico is beautiful. The roads are in way better shape than in Milwaukee, and the drivers on MEX-85 were all really courteous. Lots of thumbs up from semi drivers along the way. At one of the tolls, the Federales stopped us, but he just wanted to see our bikes and ask us where we are going. When we told him our destination of Buenos Aires, Argentina his eyes got real big and he let us go on our way.

Our team is really awesome! I am so thankful every moment that we have each other. We all have strengths we bring to the group. We are all learning and supporting each other.

We made it to Monterrey, Mexico today. Traffic in the city is insane! There is flow and once you get in the flow its not so bad. Just pay attention!

Overall we rode 146 miles. A short day, but a great day.
